The candles show floral decoration constructed from porcelain and shows silver plated trays with red glass beads dangling. The candles shows moriage enamel decorations that are hand painted and show the finest of qualities imported into the United States from 1891 to 1911. Nippon porcelain produced between 1891 and 1911 is a unique fusion of traditional Japanese artistry and Western design preferences. Nippon porcelain are Japanese ceramic wares that were produced specifically for export to the Western market, particularly to the United States, between 1891 and 1921. The word "Nippon" is the Japanese name for Japan, and during this time, the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 in the U.S. required that imported goods be marked with the country of origin. As a result, Japanese porcelain pieces were marked with "Nippon" to indicate they were made in Japan.
