This is the original negative of the Wyatt Earp officiated Sharkey vs. Fitzsimmons fight circa 1896; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is truly a historic and original negative of the photograph. The negative features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ORIGINAL negative photograph of the immortalized fight between Sharkey and Fitzsimmons which held importance because Wyatt Earp was officiating and referee for this boxing match. There were accusations that the fight was fixed and even legal precedence was taken against Earp and Sharkey for doping Fitzsimmons before the fight. the negative comes complete with an original museum tag from Tombstone Western Heritage Museum that reads as follows: 1896 photo of the famous Sharkey/ Fitzsimmons fight where Wyatt Earp was the referee. The condition of this fight negative is well preserved with very little wear to the outside edge of the negative but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
