The lot features a circa 1910-1930’s beaded harness saddle leather revolver holster and knife sheath belt attributed to the Crow of the Northern Plains. The piece exhibits a Taxco, Mexico Sterling and 14 karat yellow gold ranger buckle set (buckle, loop and end tip) marked .925 and 14K MEXICO as well as a partial hallmark, dating to circa 1910-1930’s. The belt shows a tooled harness saddle leather ends with thick trade saddle harness leather belt holding a large knife sheath and revolver holster. The entire belt, knife sheath and revolver holster are covered in glass trade beads in a beautiful Northern Plains geometric pattern, said to originate from the Crow. The beads includes red white hearts with opalescent centers, dating to circa 1910. The sheath has a large clip point old late 19th century to early 20th century Indian trade knife with half false back edge and two-piece walnut coffined grips held into place with brass rivets, faintly marked “FOX” or “FO..”. Little bead loss, stiff leather and a beautiful gold and silver Mexican Vaquero buckle. Measures overall 51 inches long and the strap is about 2.5 inches wide. The knife sheath is (without the knife) 14.75 inches long by 4.75 inches wide. Provenance: From a large Western collection of Native American weapons, rugs and beadwork. The knife is 17 3/8 inches long by 2 inches wide. The revolve holster is 10.25 inches long by 6 inches wide.
