Featured in this lot is this obituary for Bat Masterson newspaper clipping collection circa 1921 and were displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is a collection of Bat Masterson obituary newspaper clippings that state information and condolences for the loss of this iconic western lawman. Bat Masterson was a legendary figure of the American Old West, known for his roles as a lawman, gambler, gunfighter, and later as a journalist. Born in 1853, he gained fame as a sheriff in Dodge City, Kansas, where he upheld the law during the town's violent cattle-drive era. Masterson was known for his cool demeanor and skill with a gun, often settling disputes with minimal bloodshed. After his law enforcement career, he moved to New York City, where he became a sportswriter and columnist. His life bridged the mythic frontier and the modern age, making him one of the West's most enduring and colorful personalities. The condition of this collection of newspaper clippings is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some browning to the clippings consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
