Featured in this lot is this rare photo albumen of unfinished Mt. Rushmore circa 1927 to 1941; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The photo albumen is a privately taken photograph as seen by the inscription on the back of an unfinished Mount Rushmore and was displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum and comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Mt. Rushmore in the making! The back of the photograph is inscribed as follows: Ms Maybell Wolf and Daughters Seona J., Sa x, Wisconsin - Took these pictures. The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a national memorial centered on a colossal sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills near Keystone, South Dakota, United States. The sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, named it the Shrine of Democracy, and oversaw the execution from 1927 to 1941 with the help of his son, Lincoln Borglum. The condition of this photo albumen of Mount Rushmore is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and only shows slight fading to the photo but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
