Featured in this lot is this Blackfoot Indian tacked Sheath and trade knives circa 1930's to 1950's. There are two pairs of knives and sheaths in this collection. Both Sheaths exhibit thick brown harness saddle leather and is adorned with brass trade tacks in linear bands, a documented pattern used amongst the Northern Plains in Montana, the Crow and Blackfeet / Blackfoot. The old trade knives sheathed inside show considerable age with the first marked "Sheffield England - Sheer Steal" and the other marked "Shear Steel - Nichoss Bros." Provenance: from the Bruce Miller Collection. The condition of this pair of Blackfoot knife sheaths and trade knives is well preserved with a patina adorning the brass tacks and a patina adorning the leather of the sheaths. The knives show oxidation to the blades and the wood is adorned with a patina consistent with age. The measurements of these knife sheaths and knives is 12 1/2" x 3" and 17" (with fringe) x 3 1/2".
