This is a circa 1934 R. Wallace & Sons Sterling Silver “Rose Point” pattern silverware / flatware set including a eight (total of 33 pieces; 1143 grams / 40.32 ounces). The set includes eight full size full size forks, eight salad forks, eight teaspoons, and eight soup spoons as well as one what appears to be an Oyster Ladle solid piece. These are all solid one piece, sterling silver. These are all hallmarked, “WALLACE (stag) STERLING and PAT. 92220. In 1934 R. Wallace & Sons chief designer William S. Warren introduced the Rose Point silverware pattern which was modeled after fine Venetian Renaissance lace and needlepoint work, based on a centuries earlier Venetian bride. Warren was truly innovative with his philosophy being the ornate carving should be fully visible from the front, back, and profile, acting like a miniature silver sculpture. This shows a gorgeous pattern with intricate scrollwork, roses, and a pierced handle, modeled on the intricate details of needlepoint and lace work. Rose point has become a widely popular and desired pattern. The condition of this 33 piece set of spoons and forks is well preserved with some patina adorning some of the spoons but and fork tines but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of the forks is 6 7/8" x 7/8" and 6 1/4" x 1" and the spoons measure 5 7/8" x 1 1/2" and 5 7/8" x 1 1/4" with the single spoon measuring 5 1/2" x 1 3/4". The collective weight of this set is 1143 grams / 40.32 ounces / 36.75 troy ounces.
