Provenance: From the household of Grandmother Pickering whom were homesteading in Hesperus, Colorado in the late 1800's; and was bought from a Chimayo Indian for mother in 1960's. The coat features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Chimayo wool construction and shows white coloration with the shoulders and breast decorated in tradition stepped geometric patterns often found in Chimayo weaving. The coat comes with a tag that reads as follows: Golden Collection - Pioneer Wear - Quality in Action - 08144 - Shell - 75% Wool - 25% Nylon - Lining 100% Acetate Trim - 100% Wool Chimayo Blanket - Size: 14 - Style: 650 - Color No: 903 - Color Name: Natura. The condition of this Chimayo coat is well preserved for its age with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved condition. The overall measurements of this coat 28 1/2" x 28 1/2".
