Featured in this lot is this Inuit carved steatite avian sculpture collection circa early 1900's. There are three sculptures in this collection. The sculptures feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted steatite construction that shows two smaller birds maybe of the black bird variety that shows some good attention to detail to the wings of the bird with a broken beak with the other smaller black bird showing a smooth body. The third steatite sculpture shows the likeness of a raven or crow hunched over on a rock with some life like features to the carving. The condition of this collection of steatite sculptures is preserved with some fading on one and the beak being broken off of the other squat one but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of these sculptures ranges from 3 3/4" x 4" x 2" to 6" x 3 1/2" x 1 7/8". The collective weight of this collection of sculptures is 3lb 14oz.
