Featured in this lot is this Scaup drake and hen decoys by Jim Mensing circa 1980's. The decoys feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted wooden and life like painted construction and shows the female hen with her mouth open. The drakes back is lovely showing texture to the wings that brings out the color of the males body. The females shows an action set head actively quacking and calling. The bottoms of the decoys are carved with Jim Mensings initials or hallmark. The condition of this pair of decoys is well preserved with some wear to the paint job consistent with some age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of these decoys is 13" x 5" x 5" for the drake and the hen. The collective weight fo this pair of decoys is 2lb 4oz.
