Featured in this lot is this carved Black Forest floral panel circa early 19th century. The panel adornment features a wonderfully and professionally crafted carved hardwood and blacksmith forged iron construction that shows a traditional Black Forest decorative design to the carving with floral decoration in a basket with leaves and vines reaching to the outside of the piece. The piece appears to have originally been apart of a larger piece of furniture but has been retro fitted to be mounted or hung on the wall for display. The condition of this carved panel is well preserved for its age with some wear consistent with its age and has been retro fitted to be a wall hanging panel (but originally would have been a panel adornment for a larger piece of furniture. The measurements of this panel is 24" x 40" x 4 1/2". The collective weight of this panel is 25lb 4oz.
Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
