Featured in this lot are four soapstone carvings done by Canadian company Aardvark circa 1972. Aardvark, a Canadian firm, has been manufacturing soapstone sculptures since 1972. Aardvark sculpture is known for combining experienced artisans and traditional carving processes to create a distinctive type of sculptures depicting animals, people, and abstract motifs. This lot features four sculptures, three are loom birds in various potions while the fourth is a very nicely carved bowl. Two of the larger loom birds feature the original stickers reading, "The Aardik Collection Fabrique au Canada Made in Canada". They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage. They measure from 3 5/8" L x 4 1/8" W x 4 7/8" H to 2 1/2" L x 1 5/8" W x 2 3/8" H and have a collective weight of 2 pounds.
