Featured in this lot is a Carl Kauba, Bronze Indian Chief statue titled "War". Carl Kauba (1865-1922) was born in Vienna, Austria and is known for his bronze sculptures of Native Americans. Carl was a prolific artist, crafting masterpieces that captured the American West in all its greatness. The bronze depicts a Native American chief holding a rifle while looking off into the distance. The chief is depicted in a large, eagle feather headdress and tasseled shirt. The statue is signed on the back of the bronze base. The bronze shows wonderful detail and is set on a black marble base. The piece shows good condition and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. The bronze statue measures 24 1/4" tall by approximately 15 1/2" at the widest.
