For your consideration is an original signed Carl Tolpo oil painting of Index and Pilot Peak. Carl Tolpo was born in Ludington, Michigan in 1901. During the course of his career, he established his reputation as a portrait, genre and landscape painter as well as a portrait and figure sculptor. As a painter, his works in fine oil portraiture particularly include State portraits and landscape oil paintings of the western USA, mostly the Yellowstone Park region. Index Peak at 11,522 feet is a prominent mountain peak in the Absaroka Range in Park County, Wyoming. The peak is visible from US Route 212, the Beartooth Highway just east of the Northeast Entrance Station to Yellowstone National Park. Index Peak rises just north of Pilot Peak. This original oil painting shows amazing detail as flashes of green flora in the foreground compliment a background consistent with an August in Montana with two beautiful mountains. This oil painting measures 11 ¾” wide and 17” long.
