Featured in this lot is a carved wooden cigar store Indian figure. The figure shows a Native American in a full feathered headdress. The piece is wearing a red, white, and blue patriotic wrap with feather details in the front. He is also holding a bundle of cigars in his left hand and saluting with his right. The cigar store Indian has been used since the early 1800's. Due to language barriers, the cigar store Indian placed outside would let patrons know where to buy tobacco. The piece shows great detail. The carved wooden Indian is in good condition, with some wear. There is some paint chipping and a crack on the base. Measures: 39" H X 9"W.
