The lot features a beaded Buffalo hide fur flat possibles bag from the Cheyenne Indians from the 20th Century. This older piece features an Indian tanned or scrapped Great American Bison Buffalo hide with fur on the outside in a flat possible tipi bag pattern. The bag has a rectangular flap with short Buffalo hair having a band of geometric beadwork which further carrys along the entire outside edge of the bag, along the top, sides and bottom edge. The beadwork appears to be all early 1900's glass trade seed beads in colors of chalk white, red white heart, greasy blue, cobalt and greasy butterscotch yellow. The bag shows the fur along the entire back and front with a nice thick curly coat having a rich brown coloring in good conditoin with no apparent obvious or major shedding. The bag shows a sinew like or style thread possibly waxed sewing with a red dyed leather twisted tie at the top flap holding two tin rolled jingle dangle cones. The hide is in good condition being supple and soft and the beadwork appears to have little or no loss. Nice unique pattern piece. Measures overall 12.75"W by 10"L with an additional 12"L tie strap fringes (all with flap open).
