This is an excellent handwoven flat weave rug by master weaver Alfredo Martinez using 100% soft fine handspun wool in an amazing Third Phase Chief’s Blanket pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave using 100% locally handspun wool yarn that offers natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. Tight handwoven weave displayed with bold colors in the fine Serrated Diamonds pattern in the time-honored Zapotec multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Alfredo Martinez. This bold and beautiful rug shows a fantastic Navajo Third Phase Chief’s Blanket Pattern styling with showing the traditional linear parrern alternating from dark brown to cream having a strong central diamond medallion with serrated edging and colors of brown and red further accented by the eight serrated diamond medallions at each corner and edge. The piece is in brand new condition with fine tight weave. The nice medium to large rug measures 5’ by 4’ (5 foot by 4 foot). This is a contemporary rug hand woven by Alfredo Martinez, a Zapotec Indian from a small weaving village, in amazing natural dyes and wool.
