Featured in this lot is this Chippewa/ Cree buffalo jaw war club by artist Leonard and Laurie Many Trails circa 20th Century. Provenance: From The Many Trails Collection out of the Indian Nation Trading Post in Livingstone, MT. The war club features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wooden, trade seed bead, buffalo jaw, and leather construciton. The war club features a buffalo jaw at the head of the war club with a medallion of trade seed beads and leather wrapping with horse hair. The shaft is wrapped in rabbit fur with a segment of trade seed beads and a leather wrapped segment that shows brass tacks with aglets and feather tassels. The trade seed bead coloration includes the following: black, medium red, grey, sky blue, chalk white, pumpkin orange, and yellow. The condition of this war club is well preserved with some slight wear to the wrapped leather but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this war club is 24 5/8" x 13 1/2" x 2 1/4". The collective weight of this war club is 1lb 8oz. TURKEY FEATHERS
