Featured in this lot is this Civil War Era short sword or fighting knife circa 1860's. The short sword or fighting knife is wonderfully and professionally crafted steel and brass construction that shows a double sided blade with a brass hilt and an ornate handle with floral decoration embossed on the handle. The condition of this Civil War Era short sword or fighting knife is well preserved with some oxidation to the blade and patina to the hilt and blade but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The measurements of this short sword or fighting knife is 16 3/4" x 3 3/8" x 1". The collective weight of this short sword or fighting knife is 10oz.
