For your consideration are two Civil War documents / letters from 1864 to 1865. The first document is a short letter addressed to "Whom it may concern" and details the Office of Depo Quartermaster is sending their 14 year old employee, who has permission, to Baltimore. It is signed by W.E. Monford and Capt. W.N. Henry. It comes with its original letter cover reading, "To Whom It May Concern". The second document is a provision / ration document for the Quarter Master Depo. 2nd Div. 18th Army Company. The document details that a total of two men drew 11 days of ration for the 2nd Div. 11th Army, entailing pork, fresh beef, flour, beans, coffee, sugar, vinegar, adamantine, soap and salt on March 21st, 1864 to March 31st, 1864. It is signed off by two men, with one of the men being from the company grabbing provisions. The back is marked in the corner reading, "Enlisted men as clerks in Q.M. Depo / 2 men 11 days / 87". The pieces show good condition overall with some wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The provision paper measures 6 5/8" L x 10 1/8" W, while the letter measures 9 3/4" L x 7 3/4" W. They have a collective weight of under 6 ounces.
