The lot features a fantastic Tanzanite and Diamond 14K white gold ring with paperwork. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The ring is from renowned designer Orianne Collins and is marked, "ORIANNE 14K”. The custom solid 14K white gold brilliant setting features a large oval mixed brilliant cut natural Tanzanite with brilliant cut crown and modified brilliant cut pavilion showing a total weight of 4.50 carats, excellent Violet Blue medium dark coloring with very fine clarity. The ring shows an impressive Antique style Art Deco like feather or flame bezel which is elaborately set with diamonds and supported by a split shoulder which flows into the highly polished 14 karat white gold band. Overall, the ring shows a total of 0.38 carats of diamonds with a round brilliant very good cut and quality, I-1 to I-2 clarity and G to I color. The ring comes with a GIA Certified laboratory AIG (American International Gemologists) report and appraisal which confirms the above information and gives a current value of $4,055.00. The ring shows a size of 7 US.
