For sale in this lot is a fine Colt Bisley Single Action Army revolver, chambered for .32-20 caliber. The revolver is accompanied by a Colt factory letter, dating the shipment to July 21st, of 1903, and shipped to Blish, Mize & Silliman Hardware Company of Atchison, Kansas. Much like the Winchester Model 1873, the Colt Single Action Army, aptly nicknamed "The Peacemaker" is thought as a piece of Americana, also labeled as "The Gun That Won The West". The Colt SAA was designed by two of Colt's best engineers of the time, William Mason, and Charles Brinckerhoff Richards. The Colt Bisley was introduced in 1894, and was named after the famous firing range, in Bisley, England. The Bisley can be distinguished by the wide target hammer, and longer grip panels. The revolver additionally utilizes a 7 1/2" barrel, and underlug cartridge extractor, typical of the SAA. The revolver is marked with period correct roll stamping, reading; ‰ÛÏCOLT‰ÛªS PT. F.A. MFG Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.‰Û along with "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." It has the two-lined patent dates of 1871, 1872 and 1875. Lastly, the revolver shows matching serial number on the butt of the grip, on the trigger assembly, and on frame - All matching the serial number provided on the factory letter. Overall, the revolver shows very-good mechanical and aesthetic condition - Boasting a nice, naturally aged patina, and excellent hard rubber grips. Mechanically, the revolver has a tight action, which is in good time, with a strong cylinder lock-up. The bore also shows good condition, with strong rifling, and minimal pitting. The revolver qualifies as a Curio & Relic Handgun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 246021.
