This is an original circa 1902 Colt New Army and New Navy D.A. 38 Model 1896 / 1901 double action swing out cylinder revolver chambered in .38. The revolver features a 4 ½ inch round barrel, six-shot cylinder, hard rubber black grips and warm patina with original blue finish. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT. D.A. 38”, on the left side of the frame just above the grips with the rampant colt with circle, marked on the cylinder lock lever / inside of the frame / and the swing out frame 874, on top of the barrel in a three-line address “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. PAT. AUG. 5. 84. NOV. 6. 88. MAR. 5. 95.”, and on the bottom of the frame 186582. The revolver shows good condition, with wear and handling marks from use. The mechanics function smoothly and are tight. The bore is in good condition, with fair rifling. Serial Number: 186582, manufactured in 1902. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
