This is a rare circa 1871-1876 Colt House .41 caliber spur trigger revolver with the scarce non-fluted five shot cylinder. Only 2,150 examples of the Colt House pistol were manufactured by Colt with the factory non-fluted 5-shot cylinder, with this being a fine example of one. The revolver exhibits a 2 5/8-inch round barrel with five-shot non-fluted cylinder, spur trigger, birds head hardwood grips, and nickel finish. The top of the barrel is marked reading "COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." and "PAT. SEP. 19. 1871" on the top of the frame. Mechanically the revolver shows a strong hammer action and tight trigger, appears to function well and overall shows a fine condition with some light wear across the nickel. Rare to see an example with full nickel as well as the non-fluted five-shot cylinder in such well kept condition. The Colt House were the first Colt revolver design specifically for metallic cartridges, making them a quintessential addition to any Colt collection. Serial number 9308. This firearm qualifies as an ANTIQUE, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
