This lot offers you a Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless .25 Auto pistol. The Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless is a variant of the Model 1903 introduced five years later in .380 ACP caliber. Despite the title "hammerless", the 1908 does have a hammer. The hammer is covered and hidden from view under the rear of the slide. This allows the pistol to be carried in and withdrawn from a pocket quickly and smoothly without snagging. This pistol has a blue'd frame and slide and features a bucking Colt logo at the rear of the slide. The trigger and safety back strap show a brilliant case colored finish. The hard wood walnut grips also feature the colt logo on each grip panel as well as factory checkering. The slide is marked on the left " Colt's PT. F.A. MFG. CO - Hartford, CT, U.S.A Pat’d Aug. 25. 1896 - Apr. 20. 1897. Dec. 22. 1903. – Jan. 25. 1910 July 31 1917" and on the right "Colt Automatic - Calibre .25". The barrel shows a bright bore and crisp rifling and a manufacturing date of 1929. Serial Number: 379531. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
