Featured in this lot we have a Colt New Service double action revolver chambered in .44-40 caliber. This revolver was manufactured in the early 1900's by Colt. The revolver displays a 4 1/2" long round barrel, six shot cylinder, walnut grips, double action trigger and hammer, and blue'd finish. The piece is marked across the barrel reading "NEW SERVICE 44-40" on the left side with the top reading "COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARDFORD. CT USA PAT'D AUG, 5, 1884, JUNE, 5, 1900, JULY, 4, 1905". Mechanically the revolver shows strong springs, well timed action, and crisp trigger. The revolver shows good condition overall with minor wear across the finish with signs of use.
