This is an increasingly rare original Colt Single Action Army Model 1873 revolver showing a scarce .38 Special caliber and was manufactured in 1905. Offered for sale is a surprisingly fine condition example of a Colt Single Action Army Revolver. The revolver shows matching serial numbers on the butt, trigger guard, frame and cylinder and marked on the barrel COLTó»S MFG Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.ó It has the two-lined patent dates of 1871, 1872 and 1875. The pistol shows much if not all of the blue finish being retained on the barrel, ejector housing, trigger guard, trigger and hammer with the barrel showing the correct wear with the fluted areas retaining more finish die to honest wear. The frame shows a bright case hardening with rich coloring, a fine addition to this First Generation SAA. Fine action and solid lockup. The lettering and serial numbers across the entire firearm appear to be crisp with no drag. This is truly a wonderful American Frontier Old West Colt Single Action Army First Generation Revolver with unusual case hardening and excellent Stag Rocky Mountain Elk Antler Horn grips. The revolver shows a 5 1/2 inch round blue finish barrel with blue and case hardened finishes and Stag Elk Antler grips. The revolver would have been used by one of the iconic members of the American Western Frontier including gamblers, outlaws, gold-seekers, frontiersmen, fur traders, and the like. Unusual to see a .38 Special caliber SAA. The firearm shows a serial number of 265490 and was manufactured in 1905. Curio and Relic, FFL transfer or NICS background check required.
