Featured in this lot is this framed engraving called "Cowboys Roping Wild Hogs in Indian Territory" by Frederic Remington after his death. The engraving features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a group of cowboys on horseback roping a herd of wild hogs. Frederic Remington's signature is shown in the bottom right hand corner. Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 – December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in the genre of Western American Art. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, Native Americans, and the US Cavalry. The condition of this Frederic Remington engraving is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this framed engraving is 15" x 19 3/4" and the visible artwork measures 8 1/2" x 13 1/4". The collective weight of this framed engraving is 3lb.
