Featured in this lot is this Crockett Renalde long shank correction bit circa 1940-1950's. The bit and features a wonderfully and professionally crafted steel and leather construction that shows a long shank correction bit with set D-rings for two rein and a figure eight ring attachment for the chin strap. The headstall is a custom made headstall with a rounded cheek band with heavy leather and sturdy buckles and silver conchos with etched horse heads into the face of the conchos. The bit is marked on the shank with a R and a rocker above it. The condition of this of this correction bit is well preserved with some oxidation and patina to the bit and headstall with some wear to the leather but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this bit is with headstall is 27" x 6 5/8" x 2 1/2". The collective weight of this bridle bit is 3lb 2oz. Provenance: Owned by Norton Family out of Opportunity, MT.
