The lot features a fully beaded hide awl case from the Crow Apsaalooke Native American Indians of Montana dating to circa 1890-1900’s. The piece shows a Buffalo Indian tanned hide parfleche rawhide hard case with Indian tanned hide top flap all being completely covered in all period correct 19th Century glass trade seed cen beads. The beadwork is in a “crazy” pattern showing various colors such as chalk white, greasy yellow, greasy blue, cobalt, red white hearts, greasy blue, medium green, blue, butterscotch yellow, greasy rose, along with more. The bottom of the case shows three drops of beadwork fringe and the top shows a geometric pattern of beadwork on the flap. The piece would have held a carved bone awl leather punch and worn around the belt or found in a possible bag. This piece measures 10 1/2" long overall by 1 1/4" at its widest.
