The lot features a nice Crow Montana beaded, hide tipi possible bag from the early- to mid-1900’s. The bag exhibits the construction of thick Buffalo Bison hide being Indian tanned and held together with sinew sewing and further adorned with red stroud wool trade cloth edges and bands of glass trade seed beadwork. The beadwork is in the typical banded design seen on tipi possible bags and is in early colors of Cheyenne pink, red white hearts, chalk white, cobalt, greasy yellow, and sky padre blue. The bag shows hide ties at the top and a single, triangle hide drop on one corner. The back shows an old Indian hide tie with yellow coloring, possibly ocher. The bag shows some slight loss to the beads, but overall is a fine example in an unusual, smaller size. Measures 10”x9”.
