Offered for sale is this wonderful authentic original Crow Native American Indian beaded belt pouch from circa 1870-1880's. The pouch is thought to have been for tobacco and would have hung from the belt or sash of the owner. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with excellent hand cut long fringe accenting the entire piece along with a bit of trade clothe at the mouth of the bag. The bag shows a tradtiional glass trade seed beaded design alogn both sides of the bag along with mineral pigment dye painted spots of red. The bag shows all period correct glass trade seed beads in sky padre blue, greasy yellow, semi-transparent, red white hearts, black, medium green and semi-transparent amber. The bag shows sinew and thread sewing and has the correct patina and signs of use indicative of its early Indian Wars era age. Provenance: From a Manheim, Pennsylvania collection.
