The lot features an early 1900's cradleboard cover with fully done beadwork across the entire outside edge and rear hanging panel; the piece is from the Montana Crow Plains Native American Indians. The beadwork is all loom beaded on an old wool trade blanket sewn with cotton thread. The top rope beaded edge shows a hanging set of miniature Indian tanned hide moccasins with beadwork in a traditional outlined and circle medallion Crow pattern. The beadwork is done in all glass trade seed beads with colors of chalk white, black, greasy yellow, medium green, light blue, red-white hearts, semi-transparent red, red, Cheyenne pink, greasy green, and semi-transparent blue. The bottom shows Germantown-like colored yarn fringes. The piece has a ribbon tie at the center. Measures 27" L with the top panel flat and bottom fringes by approximately 6.25" W when closed by 3.5" D.
