The lot features a unique turtle shell rattle or dance stick with carved wood handle from the Crow Native American Indians. The piece shows a complete turtle shell top and bottom with solid wood carved handle having a dark black coloring with flaring turtle head pommel end having seed bead yellow eyes and a red slightly open mouth. Inside the shell the handle shows more intricate carving and is secured to the shell with two older screws. The piece also shows a hide wrist throng handle. Overall the piece has a nice vintage age, possibly dating to the mid-20th Century, and is in good condition with no major damage, other than the common crack at the middle of the shell. Measures 11.25”L with an additional 5.25”L wrist throng by 4.75”W by 2.5”D.
