Featured in this lot is this Crow Indian Parfleche sheath and bone handle trade knife. The sheath shows a polychrome painted parfleche rawhide in a geometric traditional design of the Apsaalooke Crows of Montana. The piece shows colors of red, blue, green, yellow with sinew sewing and a trade cloth lining on the sewn edge. The trade knife shows a well-crafted semi flexible blade with a curvate edge for skinning and a bone handle wrapped around its full tang. The condition of this sheath and trade knife is good for their age, with the sheath showing some fading to the polychrome decoration and the trade knife showing oxidation consistent with its age; both items show good overall condition. The measurements of this sheath are 9 3/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" and the trade knife measures 12" x 1 1/4" x 1".
