The lot features a fantastic Crow Native American Indian War Shirt with quillwork center medallion and beadwork panels on the arms. The piece shows a nice hide construction with long hand cut fringe along the outside of each arm and the bottom edge of the shirt. The hide shows a red trade clothe stroud edging sewn at the neckline and displays a large 7 inch diameter round hide medallion pinwheel adorned with porcupine quilled piece dyed in purple, natural white, and orange with a round red stroud trade clothe center. The arms show long Buffalo hide strips adorned with red trade clothe with white and light blue older glass pony trade beads. The shirt shows a nice older early to mid-1900’s age and is from a large American Indian collection in Billings, Montana. The piece has a smoked brain tanned smell or finish and is likely a buckskin hide with nice yellow tan coloring. Measures overall 74” wide by 39” long.
