Featured in this lot is this Colt Cavalry Action Revolver Vintage Custom Bronze Sculpture Solid Walnut Hard Case, circa 1992. This case features a Limited Edition Bronze after Frederic Remington's "The Rattlesnake" titled, "Prairie Surprise" by Montana artist Tamra Otten affixed to the top. The case has a velvet-lined compartmentalized layout. The bronze is signed by the artist with the limited edition stamp "1/35". Provenance: La Loba Bronze & Company artist information. The Colt "Cavalry" revolver officially refers to the famous Colt Single Action Army (SAA) Model 1873, which was the standard-issue sidearm for the U.S. Army horse soldiers. Featuring a 7.5" barrel and chambered in .45 caliber Colt, it became an iconic symbol of the American frontier. The heavy-hitting .45 caliber cartridge and rugged, black-powder design were ideal for horseback carry and were heavily used throughout the American Indian Wars. This case and bronze are in very nice condition, velvet covered moulded form insert intact, felt pads on base, rich patina observed throughout.
