Featured in this lot is this framed and signed giclee paper print titled, "Founding Fathers" done by New Mexico artist David Behrens circa 2000s. David Behrens' art is distinctive, passionate, and easily identifiable. His painting technique combines reality, concept, and creativity, all while exploring challenging aspects of Native American history and culture. David earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from East Carolina University's School of Art in 1992. He resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his wife Marybel and four children, with his gallery, Painted Sky, located in Old Town Albuquerque where he features his paintings as well as unique and handcrafted Native American ceramics, jewelry, and gifts. The print shows the Mount Rushmore Monument with ghost like images of famous Native American men sitting above the monument. The artwork is double matted with white and light blue matting paper and is hand signed by the artist in the bottom right hand corner of the white matting paper reading, "For Bill, All my best / David Behrens". The back of the frame features a story on the founding fathers and the monument as well as a write up on the artist. The artwork and frame show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. The visible art measures 7 3/8" L x 9" W, while the entire piece measures 13 5/8" L x 16 5/8" W x 3/4" D. It weighs 2 pounds and 4 ounces.
