Included in this lot is an Original Signed Hand-Painted Oil on Linen, "Daffodils", by Laura Robb, signature on bottom left corner. Laura Robb (1955) creates still life paintings that are beautifully composed and masterfully painted. Her vibrant oils, with their dynamic brushwork, convey an effortlessness that has taken decades of concentrated effort and focus to achieve. The paintings of Laura Robb have a quality that artists covet - expressive strokes and color saturation that place them in a space between being abstract gestures of color and shape and representational studies of beautiful objects and flowers. The paintings guide our eyes with value and color pathways, leading us to their centers of focus. Robb is a master of color, combining intense notes in areas of interest with quieter tones to create calmer moments. Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Laura Robb, entered art school at the age of 16. She has studied under Michael Aviano and Richard Schmid. She since has traveled and painted in France, Spain, Mexico, and Guatemala. Robb works between three mediums- oils, watercolors and pastels-but she is most drawn to the richness of oils. Although she is well known for her landscapes and figure studies, her primary focus always has been her still lifes.
