Included in this lot is an original Dau-Law-Taine Kiowa, "Known Warrior" painting on canvas, 2020. Darwin Tsoodle Kiowa (Dau-Law-Taine) is a Native American artist who was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma and is known for his depictions of Native American Braves on horseback. This painting depicts a Native Brave Warrior on horseback with a decorated shield in his hand. This Warrior is decorated with a large headdress with horns, a painted white face with red stripes, bright colored clothing, and is riding a spotted appaloosa horse. Both the horse and Warrior display wonderful attention to detail. The background of this painting shows a large grassy field with a dark blue mountain range, light blue sky with dark grey clouds, and rain and lightning coming from the clouds. This painting shows wonderful use of color. The bottom right hand corner of this painting is signed "Dau-Law-Taine Kiowa Copyright 2020". The back of this painting is marked "Known Warrior". This painting is in pristine condition and shows no obvious signs of damage. This piece measures 13 3/4" by 17 1/2".
