The lot features an original work of art oil painting titled, “Rancho De Taos” by renowned artist Dean A. Porter circa 1989. Dean A. Porter was born in 1939 Gouverneur, New York and received his BA, MA & PhD degrees from State University of New York at Binghamton. Dean Porter worked at The Snite Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame as the curator (1966-1974) and director (1974-1999), Curator of American Art (1999-2001) and full professor in the Department of Art, Art History and Design University of Notre Dame (1966-2001). He is a renowned artist and mixes his rich expertise in New Mexican culture with his love of early churches with his work specializing in these beautiful pieces of architecture. This piece shows his traditional Taos, New Mexico Church and is signed lower right and dated ’89. On the back is some the piece is signed RANCHOS DE TAOS and comes with some info on the artist. The condition of this painting is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this painting are 16 3/4" x 12 3/4" and the visible art measures 16" x 12".
