Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The ring is from renowned designer Orianne Collins and is marked, "ORIANNE PT950". The solid platinum ring features a fantastic oval modified brilliant cut with brilliant cut crown Tanzanite stone with a total weight of 9.53 carats and AAA+ quality / clarity with beautiful transparent eye clean finish with rich scarce deep Violet Blue color and rare pleochroism giving different changes of colors when moved.
