Scrooge McDuck, created by Carl Banks, as a Scottish-American, curmudgeonly anthropomorphic Pekin duck who decides to test Donald and his nephews to see if they are worthy of inheriting his wealth. Was first introduced to the world in 1947 in a story called "Christmas on Bear Mountain" which appeared in the December 1947 issue of Dell Comics "Four Colour Comics #178". McDuck was initially characterized as a greedy miser and antihero (as Charles Dickens' original Scrooge was), but in later appearances he has often been portrayed as a thrifty hero, adventurer and explorer; created as an antagonist for Donald Duck. The Beagle Boys are a group of cartoon characters created in 1951 by Carl Banks, the creator of Scrooge McDuck, and are an animated family clan of organized criminals who constantly try to rob Scrooge McDuck.
