For your consideration is a beautifully crafted, painted bronze sculpture done by renowned artist, Don Toney, in 1995. This is a limited edition bronze being numbered "5/15". Don Toney (born 1954) is a Canadian sculptor known for his wonderfully detailed bronze pieces depicting life on the ranch and in the outdoors. Raised on a cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains' foothills, he grew up with a strong affinity for horses and wildlife, his preferred themes. He started learning the bronze casting method about 1979, when he was 25. Toney has created various limited-edition versions (typically 25-100 castings) over the last four decades, with a focus on dynamic compositions depicting wildlife, horses, ranch vistas, and industrial themes such as oil fields. Toney's sculptures are appreciated for their authenticity, expressive movement, and textural richness, which stem directly from his ranch upbringing and technical bronze talent. This bronze sculpture shows a man skiing near two large pine trees covered in snow. He is bundled in snow gear and wears snow goggles on his head as he skis down the mountain. The sculpture sits on a wood base and features a metal plaque on the front reading, "Back Country Winter Wilderness". The back of the sculpture is marked reading, "Don Toney 5/15 '95". It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. It measures 8 5/8" L x 8" W x 13 3/4" H and weighs 13 pounds and 2 ounces.*
