Featured in this lot is this double halo setting tanzanite and diamond, 14k white gold ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested 14k white gold construction with a total weight of 4.7g and an 'Orianne' with a 14k gold stamp next to it. The center stone features a pear shape modified brilliant cut tanzanite gemstone with measurements of 11.4mm x 8.4mm, a bluish violet coloration, and a very good cut grade. The center stone is profusely decorated with a double halo setting with a total of 47 round brilliant cut diamonds showing measurements of 1.4mm x 1.6mm, a color gradient of F – G, a clarity of VS2 - SI2, and a total weight of 0.76cts. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K38E95-EA15845) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $9,743.00.
