Featured in this lot is this trillion cut, 2.66 carat tanzanite and diamond, 14k white gold ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested 14k white gold construction with a bright finish and an 'Orianne' hallmark with a 14k gold stamp next to it. The ring features a trillion triangular modified cut tanzanite with measurements of 10mm x 9.6mm, a bluish violet coloration, and a very good cut grade. The ring has an art decor design split shoulders with a double trillion halo decoration featuring a total of 77 round brilliant cut diamonds; the diamonds have measurements of 1.3mm - 1.8mm, a color gradient of F – G, a clarity of VS2 - SI1, and a total weight of 0.97cts. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K41E11-EA15917) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $10,377.00. The ring size is US 7.
