Featured in this lot is this beautiful original oil done by Colorado artist Dwayne Brech (1946-Present) circa 1990s. Born in southern Minnesota in 1946, Dwayne relocated to Colorado in 1971 to work for Western Horseman Magazine. After a successful 27-year career as an illustrator/art director, he quit the magazine to focus on painting. His work has been featured in a variety of exhibits, galleries, and private collections in addition to Western Horseman. In 1998, he was one of three judges at the annual Cowboy Artists of America show. The time at the magazine offered great inspiration for his artwork. Interaction with horsemen of all levels, from amateur to professional, has given him the opportunity to comprehensively investigate the horse world. This painting depicts a herd of buffalo wandering around a grassy field as towering mountains stand in the background. A large buffalo stands in the foreground looking to the side of the viewer. It is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading, "Dwayne Brech". The artwork is double framed showing a wood frame on the outside and a canvas and wood frame on the interior. The piece shows good condition overall with no wear or damage present to the artwork. The frames show slight wear from their use over the years but no signs of major damage or wear is noted. The visible artwork measures 11 5/8" L x 15 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 19 9/16" L x 23 9/16" W x 1 3/4" D. It weighs 4 pounds and 12 ounces.
