Featured in this lot is this framed photogravure called "Camp in the Forest - Kutenai" crom Edward Sherriff Curtis born 1868 and died 1952 and from the copyrighted photograph 1910. The photogravure is of a tipi or teepee in a clearing in the tree line of a forest with an individual entering the teepee. The photogravure reads as follows: From Copyright Photograph 1910 by E.S. Curtis - Camp in the Forest - Kutenai. The frame features a heavy hard wood and intricate border design of geometric patterns with a stained wood from local framing company and includes conservation grade glass. Edward Sherriff Curtis was an American photographer and ethnologist whose work focused on the American West and on Native American people. The condition of this framed photogravure is good with no obvious signs of damage to the artwork or the frame and shows good overall display condition. The measurements of this framed photogravure are 23 1/2" x 19 1/2" and the visible art measures 8 3/4" x 6". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert.
