Featured in this lot is this Earl R. or Betty J. Baker out of Helena, Montana branding irons circa 1971 to 1980. There are three separate branding irons in this collection that make up the whole ranch brand. The full brand is: 3L (with a rocker above). This branding irons are registered to Earl R. or Betty J. Baker out of Helena, Montana which was re recorded in 1971 to 1980 and is recorded to have been located on cattle on the right hip; and on horses on the right thigh. This brand was identified with the Montana State Library Montana History Portal online. Being a re record means this brand has prior history, but was identified using the 1971 to 1980 records. The condition of this grouping of of Montana branding irons is preserved with heavy oxidation to the iron and the shaft but otherwise is in preserved condition. The measurements of these branding irons is 39" x 6 1/4" x 2 1/2" to 42 1/4" x 5 1/8" x 2 1/8". The collective weight of these branding irons is 8lb 10oz.
