Featured in this lot is this Minnie L. Southworth out of Lewistown, Montana branding irons circa 1971-1980. There are a total of three branding irons that make up the whole brand. The brand is as follows: (Side Bar; Left Arch) 9. The brand belonged to Minnie L. Southworth from Lewistown, Montana and would have been marked on cattle on the right hip and horses on the right thigh. This brand was transferred some time between 1971 to 1980 and is not recorded who bought out the brand. This brand was identified with the Montana State Library Montana History Portal online. Being a re record means this brand has prior history, but was identified using the 1971 to 1980 records. The condition of this grouping of of Montana branding irons is preserved with heavy oxidation to the iron and the shaft but otherwise is in preserved condition. The measurements of these branding irons is 35 1/8" x 3 3/8" x 2" to 43 7/8" x 2 1/4" x 1/2". The collective weight of these branding irons is 6lb 12oz.
